On December 14th I came back to my country, Colombia, but actually my trip began on December 13th. Because my plane left at 5:30 in the morning I had to be at the airport at 3:30am, so I decided to go to there the day before and spent all night long there. I arrived to Logan airport at 11:30 pm by bus. It was an eternal and bored night, seating on a chair with my baggage beside me all the time. I would have arrived later, yet the price of the taxis in Boston is impossible for me, so bus and Metro were my best options.
After six hours of wait, finally I took the plane to Fort Lauderdale. The airplane wasn’t comfortable, the space between seats was small and the temperature inside was terrible.
After three and a half hours I arrived in Florida and immediately I took the next plane to Colombia, almost four hours more.
When I arrived to the airport my mother and my aunt were waiting for me. The weather in Bogota was terrible; a lot of rain. Moreover I had forgotten how messy Bogota was. Traffic jam, streets crowded, and big holes on the roads. Even though, I was glad to be in my hometown again.
In my parent’s house I gave some presents to my father, mother, and sisters. I had lunch with them and I told them some stories of my trip in Boston and my experiences. They were happy to have me in town again. Later at night I went to my own house where I life alone. I unpacked my baggage and put in order some things. Actually, was hard to adapted myself again, I miss my student life in New England. I spent a really good time there, and I met nice people from different countries.
I hope some day I could have a similar experience as I had in Boston, I really enjoy it.
If you are thinking to have an unforgettable pizza, eat delicious bread and have a great moment for a reasonable price, o Bertucci’s is the right place.
The day when I went to Bertucci’s the spot was crowded, but the wait didn’t take too much time. Additional the server showed the menu and offer something to drink.
The informal atmosphere was perfect and the Italian mood made me felt comfortable. When a place to sit got free the serve moved to there. The table was in order and clean. Napkins well folded and knife and fork were inside it. The menu is varied but without too many topics that help to take an easy decision. While I was taking a decision of what I wanted to order, a portion of hot and fresh bread was served. The bread is baked in a stone oven, it is simply fantastic. It is served with a side of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
The appetizers were diverse. I had a Mozzarella Fritta: Breaded mozzarella pan-fried in extra-virgin olive oiland served over plum tomato sauce with fresh basiland a sprinkle of Romano cheese. It was good, rich in flavor, but a little bit greasy. Because I have finished my drink the serve was ready to make a refill. I love places with refill. You just have to pay one soda.
The pizzas of Bertucci’s are pretty famous and I have heard very good comments about them, so I decided to have a individual The Bertucci: pepperoni, chunky tomato sauce and extra
Mozzarella cheese. The taste was marvelous, with enough top of each topic and crispy crust. The size was perfect for one person. If you want to make you dinner more sophisticate you can order the wine menu with Chilean, Argentinean, Italian, and French wines.
For dessert I decided to order a Cannoli: A crispy pastry freshly-filled with Italian ricotta and bittersweetchocolate chips. Dusted with powdered sugar. It also was quite good, neither too sweet nor without taste.
To conclude, the price is so good, with $20 dollars you can have a very interesting supper, well served and in a nice place.
